About this place
Saltwave Cottage stands alone on a small cliff above a quiet bay on the western Algarve. Two bedrooms, a stone-floored kitchen, a writing nook by the window, and a flat roof where you can sit at dusk and watch the Atlantic change colour.
The house is small and bright. White walls, blue shutters, a fig tree in the courtyard. There is a path down to the beach (twelve minutes), a nearby village with a market on Tuesdays, and otherwise — wind and sea.
Come alone, or as a couple. There is no concierge, no group programming. Just a clean house in a place that asks you to slow your pulse.

Twelve quiet minutes down to a beach where there were three people. Slept with the shutters open, cooked simple food, watched the sea change every evening.
Small, clean, beautifully positioned. The fig tree was heavy with fruit when I arrived. Some traffic noise on weekend mornings — otherwise still.
Honest hospitality. Bikes worked, market on Tuesday was full of life, and the cottage felt lived-in in the best way.
